Belgian boatbuilder Zeydon successfully splashed first 60-foot sailing yacht
Zeydon Z60 touches the salty water at Zeebrugge.
Arendonk, Belgium – August 11, 2008 – A few days after arriving at Zeebrugge, the Zeydon Z60 was splashed mid last month. ‘WYSIWYG’ has been chosen as the name of this luxury sports cruiser. It is an acronym for ‘What You See Is What You Get’. The customer will discover a unique yacht with a spacious, comfortable and relaxing feel. He or she will certainly experience this yacht to be both easy and sportsmanlike sailing, emanating reliability and luxury.
Dutch naval architect Peter Bosgraaf was responsible for the hull and rigging architecture of the Z60. So far, tests have already shown impeccable sailing performances. The Z60 averages better than the theoretical 13 knots that were calculated after tank-testing its scale model. During one of the first test sails the Z60 reached speeds up to 17.4 knots and sailed tracks 22° close to the wind at a reasonable speed of 10 knots. While navigating on motor only, speeds between 10 and 13 knots are within easy reach.
Its powerful concept, its functional and performing design, its exceptional colour, ... Both exterior and interior are top level design. The cooperation between Zeydon and BMW DesignworksUSA reached - with great attention to detail and with performance and naval technology in mind - this sustained level of excellence of the Z60.
In the weeks to come, Zeydon plans more testing near the Belgian coast before heading to the south of France. WYSIWYG belongs at the Mediterranean, where a berth is waiting at Port Grimaud. For potential customers, this yacht would support their lifestyle, at sea as well as on land.
During the prestigious event « Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez » (27 September 2008 - 5 October 2008), Zeydon’s first will be cruising around in the area.
